The gods became frightened (with the thought) "Who should be our King?". shlokaH 47 divi devarShayashchApi devarAjavinAkR^itAH . na cha sma kashchiddevAnA.n rAjyAya kurute manaH .. 47..\\ padavibhaagaH divi devarShayaH cha api devarAja-vinA-kR^itAH . na cha sma kashchit devAnA.n rAjyAya kurute manaH .. anvayaH divi devarShayaH cha api devarAja-vinA-kR^itAH. na cha sma devAnA.n kashchit rAjyAya manaH kurute. pratipadaarthaH divi=In heaven; devarShayaH=the rishis; cha=and; api=also; devarAja-vinA-kR^itAH=were bereft of king; na=not; cha=and; sma=was; devAnA.n=among devas; kashchit=anyone; rAjyAya=for kingship; manaH=mind; kurute=to do; anuvaadaH And the gods and sages, in heaven, were made bereft of the king.
